Hunt Meet Your Kansas City Interior Decorator & Studio Founders
As a husband-and-wife Kansas City decorator team, we founded Hunt & Hearth on a simple conviction: the most memorable, inviting homes are never ordered from a single catalog page—they are collected over time with patience, patina, and purpose.
We work with homeowners throughout the metro who crave character and warmth over cold showroom perfection, but lack the hours to scour Friday morning estate sales, verify antique joinery, and style every corner.
Two Eyes for Design, One Seamless Process
Katie Henrichs serves as lead decorator, bringing an intuitive eye for spatial balance, historic color harmony, and tactile textile layering. She understands how to pair a mid-century Danish teak silhouette with a patinated brass floor lamp and modern Belgian linen.
Rob Henrichs manages the business, logistics, client communication, and brings a sharp second eye for structural wood integrity and vintage scouting across the Midwest.
Together, we handle everything from spatial floor plans to estate hunting, white-glove transport, and reveal-day styling.
"A truly great room doesn't happen when you rush out to buy everything in one weekend. It happens when you give yourself permission to hunt for pieces with a heartbeat."
Why We Hunt Vintage
We believe old things have dignity. When you bring an estate-sourced credenza or hand-knotted vintage runner into your home, you aren't just decorating; you're preserving craftsmanship that simply isn't manufactured anymore.
Sustainable Craft
Every vintage piece we rescue and restore keeps magnificent old-growth wood out of landfills and reduces the footprint of modern flat-pack production.
Honest Patina
Slight distressing, hand-rubbed wax finishes, and gentle wood grain age add a tactile depth that no artificial distressing technique can replicate.
Heirloom Longevity
Dovetail joints, mortise-and-tenon construction, and solid hardwoods mean your pieces can be passed down to your children.
Decorators, Not Contractors
We are proud residential decorators and stylists, not licensed interior designers or architectural contractors. We celebrate the art of making existing rooms extraordinary without tearing down walls, pulling permits, or putting you through months of dusty remodeling.
